Bright lime green leaves herald Spring in a vibrant way! |
I headed West and passed by the beautifully green pastures of a nearby dairy farmer...... |
....and wound down the window onto a dryer but no less exhilarating view |
the distant blue hills were hypnotising |
This one is special
Arrived at the turn off to my destination.. As you see the school bus travels this way twice a day during term time. |
.....then continued on the loop road for my return journey home.
I had to stop at the perfectly lovely old church nearby.
The daffodils were in full bloom and saying a welcome Hello! |
The Gum Trees over the road from the Church beckoned me on down the road. It was time to say good bye to this lovely hamlet and continue back around the loop road home. |
I look forward to sharing the rest of my trip with you later. Isn't it sad that we don't venture off our normally beaten track more often? The delights are enormous and add beauty to our lives. |
Do you have a place you have been meaning to visit, but like me, just don't quite get around to it? Tell me about it if you wouldn't mind. I would really love you to share your story with us:)
Bye for now, and thanks so much for dropping by for a visit!

Thanks so much BushBelles:) Glad you like them.
DeleteThank you for sharing and capturing such beautiful scenery! The second photo can be a postcard and I could feel the calmness and peace of the place. Despite the distance to go to the voting location, your eyes were abundantly filled with these beauties.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I would like to get to know you more through your posts. Would you like us to follow each other? Take care :)
Hello Farida, thank you so much for your lovely and kind words. I will definitely visit your blog and look forward to following each other:)
DeleteWe have been on the road for a couple of weeks and allow our GPS (by name of Simon) to take us between destinations as he pleases. A lot of time has been spent on narrow country roads, and we have loved all of it. Travel was from Sunshine Coast to Adelaide and we are heading home, currently at Nelson Bay.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, twitter friend! Welcome and lovely to hear about your travels down country roads. You have had a long journey and I bet you have some tales to tell:) Thanks so much for dropping by. Cheers Jane
DeleteWow, this landscape is spectacular! I love the pictures with the church in and the distant hills. When I go running I try to vary my route and go along paths I haven't explored - also good from a safety point of view too.
ReplyDeleteWow, so you are a runner Cari-Jane! That's great! I am more of a walker with a camera or on this day, a driver with a camera. Glad you enjoyed the photos:)
DeleteSuch beautiful travels! I love all the rolling hills. I would really like to visit Maine or Vermont soon - it's only a few hours drive.

Hi Melissa, lovely to see you and I think Maine or Vermont would be beautiful places to visit. You will have to try and do it soon! My hubby and I went to the East Coast of USA in the 70's, long before you were born! We really loved it!
DeleteHello Jane, it was so enjoyable taking this journey with you. I'm always amazed at your photos and the beautiful countryside. The photos that I have seen of Australia have always been red rocks and desert, but the area where you live is so green. I've never seen a gum tree and was surprised at the smooth white bark. Also, the shots of the blue hills in the distance, so surreal. I am delighted that you took your camera with you and that you shared these wonderful photos with us.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring! Connie :)
Hi there Connie. We live in an area of farmland and rainforest on a plateau of the Great Dividing Range which goes up the Eastern side of Australia, and catches a lot of rainfall. Winter is our dryest time. Summer can be extremely wet! There are very many different types of gum or Eucalypt trees in Australia. I'm not very good on names! But these ones are lovely aren't they. Wishing you a lovely Autumn:)Jane
DeleteWow Jane. What a beautiful journey - and that church! So strange to think you are coming into spring just as we are wrapping up a little warmer as the nights are drawing in; even lit a fire last night! Your photos are wonderful and give a lovely impression of your surroundings. Thanks for sharing them xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Mar, so lovely to take you on a bit of a trip around here! Yes, it does take a bit to get your head around this northern/southern hemisphere thing doesn't it! Keep warm. Janexx
ReplyDeleteand I enjoyed the views too; Dorrigo and surrounds I've enjoyed travelling a little quite some years back now and I well remember how picturesque.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carole, glad you enjoyed the views! Hope you'll come by this way again sometime soon and take some more of your beautiful photos:)
DeleteLovely scenic images Jane, love that first shot in particular.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Roy. I had a lovely day out, and the bright green of those leaves was scintillating!
ReplyDeleteI have very much enjoyed this lovely outing with you. The second shot of the rolling hills and clear ponds is idyllic!
ReplyDeleteLooks like spring is busting out beautifully!
I smiled at your title. Of course, John Denver comes to mind and since I live in West Virginia it's music to my ears.
Thanks for your visit and lovely comment on my photoblog.
Hello there Carletta, so glad you enjoyed our outing! West Virginia, what a lovely coincidence! Here for you are the lovely words from John Denver's great song. Sounds like a beautiful place to be:) Bye for now, Jane
ReplyDeleteAlmost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains
Shenandoah River -
Life is old there
Older than the trees
Younger than the mountains
Growin' like a breeze
Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
All my memories gathered 'round her
Miner's lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine
Teardrops in my eye
Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
I hear her voice
In the mornin' hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And drivin' down the road I get a feelin'
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday
Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads
Take me home, now country roads
Take me home, now country roads
Hi Jane, That is a long way to go to vote. I admire your patriotism and I'm glad that you were carrying your camera. Great shots. Steve
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, glad you enjoyed the photos, and I had a fun day, it wasn't a chore at all!!
ReplyDeleteDear Jane,
ReplyDeletethose photographs look fantastic, thank you! And to see that you are in spring while we are sailing deeply into autumn: incredible. I am looking forward to your second part of the story - and yes: it is good to take a few steps around an unknown corner, to change habits sometimes and discover new ways.
Thank you so much Brigitta, for your lovely comments, and I agree, it is difficult to think of someone else being in Spring when you are just heading into Autumn! I too, look forward to sharing the next part of my journey with you:)
DeleteHave to say Jane, I was thinking more about Olivia Newton-John than John Denver when you mentioned Country Roads.{:))
ReplyDeleteHa! Yes, of course Roy, why not!
