Some moments just take your breath away

Like this one when I went out for an evening walk and stumbled upon magic.

No need for words this time
 they only take away from the moment that was there
and all too soon it was gone.

~~~
I know you've had fleeting moments like these when all you could do was stand and watch.
  Mine was whilst visiting my son and daughter-in-law on their new block
 in the Granite Belt region of Queensland.
Where was yours?  Would love to hear about it!
  1. Good Morning Jane . . . Oh, in this life time of mine there have been so many. Once my daughter had run out of gas in a cannon about 60 miles from home. She hiked out and called me to come and rescue her. I drove through the cannon rocks along the lake right when the evening sweet light was hitting the cannon walls and it turned them bright orange. It was breath taking. Wish that I would have had my camera. That was one time that having a daughter that wasn't watching her gas gauge paid off in an incredible moment in time :)
    It is so nice to see you back blogging again. I so enjoy your photography.
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)
    1. Oh yes Connie, you bring to mind a time many moons ago when my Dad had to drive to the top of a mountain pass late at night to rescue me from also running out of petrol, before the days of mobile phones! Luckily there was a phone box a little trek away near a lonely inn. It was magic to hear his voice at the other end of the phone!
  2. Lovely magical moments for you Jane. I recall one very snowy winter day following a Mennonite buggy down a back road in Waterloo county. A second horse was tied to the back of the buggy and there were two little children all bundled up looking backwards at the horse as the snow swirled around the buggy. It was a magical picture and I was alone driving and no camera. I took a picture in my my mind and it is still there today as the one that got away!
  3. Gorgeous Jane. Yes, I have had many moments which were very special, and am grateful that my phone manages to take good pictures. I now pass your posts to Les, who enjoys them as much as I do.
    1. Yes, phones can do it all these days Lisa, and usually have one handy ~ or at least you do, me? I fumble too much with them, drive me crazy! Glad Les is enjoying the posts too! Say hi from me.
  4. Beautiful moments you captured - sometimes it is just magical when the light is just right and it feels good to be alive. These moments I savour and file them away in my mind to be brought out when things aren't so good.
    1. Early mornings are a beautiful time of day aren't they Janneke? I didn't have my dog that day, as I was away from home, but he's usually there too!
  10. It has been a grueling long winter in Canada I can't even remember now what it was like to be outside. I am not a winter person and my only excursion is house to car and car to house. Here I sit inside eagerly waiting the day it will be warm enough to go out of doors to read or to reflect. The birds are coming back though, yesterday I watched them checking out the birdhouse on the big walnut tree in the back. Any day now. But I am glad there are people around the world who can enjoy the outside even while I wait for my sun kissed days.
  12. Hello Jane,
    We have just discovered you via the delightful Helen Tilston and have been entranced by the images which you show here.
    Sadly, all too often a magical moment arises and one does not have a camera to hand to capture it. But, here, how wonderful for us your readers that you were able to hold on to the moment and immortalise it for us. The contrasts of light and shade are amazing. The landscape has taken on a mystical quality. A very special moment indeed.
    We are your latest followers.
