Morning started early, water vapour from planes way up high, as I headed down the mountain to mind my grand daughter for the morning. |
Reached my daughter's place in nearby Bellingen. Colours of fading flowering gum quite delish! Linking this photo with Mandarin Orange Monday |
Lasiandra and bunting welcomed me in. |
Darling grand daughter and I headed for coffee and fun at you know where! |
She has the most delightful facial expressions! |
Appointments dealt with, met up again with daughter and son in law for lunch break at Botanic Gardens in Coffs Harbour. |
The Grass Trees are just one of the attractions |
Son in law went back to work & after some quick shopping I left sleeping baby girl at home with Mum & headed back up to my mountain home |
Where the sun's fingers were tickling the hills |
And making their own special magic |
Hubby had some fish cooking on the stove as the sun went down. No complaints! |
Grand children are pretty special, and so are grand parents. Do you have a special memory of a grand parent, or moment with a grand child that you could share with us? Would love to hear:)
Glad you got in a fun and frolic grand child visit !
ReplyDeleteOh my, your mountain pictures are spectacular ... truly they are, what a beautiful spot.
Thank you Willow! We had a super day and you are right, it is lovely place to come home to:)
DeleteGorgeous pictures Jane..your grand daughtet is pretty special too!!
ReplyDeleteShe's the best Jen! Glad you noticed:)) bye for now Jane
DeleteBeautiful pictures Jane! Looks like you live in a very picturesque place. Your granddaughter is such a cutie. Love the bunting too!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little we'd sleep over at my Nanny's house, and we would always have fun making our own little soup in a saucepan with the scraps from dinner i.e broccoli stalks, carrot and potato peels. That and we'd be allowed to stay up late (8pm) and watch The Bill with her. Very fond memories.
Your memories of your Nanny are wonderful Sarah. That soup sounds almost as good as the one you recently posted on your blog for Potato and Pesto Soup. Sounds like you've been in training for a while! http://www.bluewaterdreaming.net/2013/04/from-the-galley-potato-and-pesto-soup/ Staying up late for The Bill too, in my day it was Bonanza!
DeleteWhat wonderful photographs and images, especially the detail of the gum.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Chris and Angela. Glad you like them, and yes the gum was interesting as it faded.
DeleteWell that was a lovely and scenic journey you took us on - thank you for sharing Jane :)
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Mel! Glad you could come along. Bye for now Jane
DeleteHello Jane, my first time here. I am so envious of your location. NSW is my first country abroad and after many visited countries after, it is still my favorite. Those photos of the hills beyond are so beautiful. I am not familiar with Dorrigo, but i guess it is in those areas when we went to Armidale via Coffs Harbour, and yes they are enchanting. I fully agree with you, actually am very envious.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see you here, and yes, you are right, Dorrigo is between Armidale and Coffs Harbour. How great that you have been there, what a surprise! I look forward to seeing more of where you live in the Phillipines through your blog.
DeleteBeautiful photos. Your grand child is adorable. Have a fabulous week!
ReplyDeleteLiz (yacb)
Hello Liz, thank you so much for dropping by from Mandarin Orange Monday, and your blog full of yummy recipes! Thank you for your kind words and you have a great week too. Cheers Jane. PS You are right she is adorable!
DeleteDelightful post! I love seeing your precious little granddaughter. There is nothing quite like the bond of grandma and grandchild. Your orange photos are beautiful and fit in with MOM. I also love the peacefulness of the misty scenes and of the lush green in the botanical garden.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Faye for your very lovely words! You are right, it is a very special bond between grandparent and grandchild.
DeleteJane you really do live in a beautiful part of the country - and your pics are great with all their variations - misty, sunset and brilliant green. Your grand daughter is gorgeous- of course! Isn't it wonderful being a grandmother!! I knew it would be nice - but never expected it to be quite like it is. I can't wait to see him every week - and I (and sometimes Gramps) still take him to playgroup twice a week.
ReplyDeleteIt was also nice to see you again on MoM - I too haven't been spending as much time blogging and on FB.
Your orange pic is perfect - gorgeous colour and composition. And how lucky you are to have a daughter living in that wonderful place Bellingen!
Hi Lori, lovely to be back, and thank you so much for, well...everything! Grand parenthood is something else isn't it! Bye for now Jane
DeleteLovely pictures!
ReplyDeleteMy grandparents were all keen gardeners and I have happy memories of 'helping' them pick strawberries and raspberries. Not many made it into the house but I don't think they minded.
Hi Patsy. Sorry I have taken so long to publish your comment. I have been out of the internet loop recently & only just back in again. Lovely to hear about your fruit picking ( and eating!) antics with your grand parents. Sounds very familiar!
