It's not perfect but it will do anyway

I have decided that I am tired of waiting to produce the perfect post, the one that is just right.  So I am just going to show you a photo or two every day, and see how that works out.  I love sharing my photos but to make the story just right is too trying right now so I hope you will enjoy what I have to offer. The following are taken in the beautiful Lake District of England.

Perfect isn't always the answer don't you think?  Sometimes good enough, is just that, good enough.
I have to say that I think that trying to reach perfection is the thing that stops us from enjoying  life and the beauty around us.  Striving for perfection can be stultifying and stops us in our tracks.  Let's appreciate the little things.

Tell me the things you enjoy each day. I'd really love to know.

  1. Totally agree, Jane- enjoy the small things each day & don't worry about perfection. One thing I always enjoy is how happy our dogs are to see me when I get home :-)

  3. Oh, Jane, I am so happy to see you back blogging. You do not even need words when your photography is as amazing as yours. I love these photos. The distance mountains all blue and gray against the brilliant green from the English rain falls. So beautiful. I also have had a love affair with the waterlily since being a kid. I rowed a boat, borrowed from one of my parents friends, out into a lake by their home . . . when I turned from the canal into the lake, it was waterlilies as far as the eye could see. I was probably around 12 or 13 years old and I was instantly in love with this flower. To this day the sight of waterlilies is breathtaking to me. Please keep taking photos and blogging. I don't think you realize how outstanding your photos are. You should be matting them and selling them in your art booth :)
Have a wonderful week, your blogging sister, Connie :)

    1. Dear Connie, I think I should hire you to write my words! You paint such a beautiful picture of you in your rowing boat on the lake surrounded by water lilies. It sounds stunning and what a wonderful memory. Thank you for all the lovely things you say. Best wishes Jane:)

    1. Yes it's not a bad place is it Carole! Fox gloves always make me think of Beatrix Potter and Jemima Puddle Duck.

  5. Dear Jane,
these photos - and the Lake District - are wonderful, thank you!
As to perfection: the longing for it hinders us in many ways. (And I never forgot that chilly story "The Birthmark" of Nathaniel Hawethorne). And somewhere I read: when God had created the universe, he looked at it and said: "Good". He did not speak of perfection :-)
We often think to much how others will find our 'products' - I think: first they must please ourselves, perfect or not.
