My Magical Misty Morning

What a day it was yesterday, weather-wise that is! Thought I'd share the start of it with you here today.
But before you read on, thanks to a comment from Gill Edwards from  Stamping Lemons, who asked about Magpies in Australia, I would like you to click here and scroll half way down that page  to listen to the magpie warbling while you take a look at my photos.  Believe me, you'll be glad you did!
( Magpies singing  courtesy of Listening Earth. www.listeningearth.com )

The valley was blanketed in white mist which floated up the hill as the sun's rays reached the cooler depths. Magpies were singing while the cattle made their way down for a drink. Droplets of moisture lingered on the roses in my garden, sparkling in the sunshine.

And this was just the beginning of our wonderful first day of Autumn weather!  I'll grab together some more photos to show you soon, as the sun came out briefly and then lo and behold a storm appeared from the West!  Oh yes, it was quite a day!

I wonder what sort of weather you've been having?  I know in the UK it's been very cold and snowy.  How about where you are?

    1. Hi Gill, More snow - it just doesn't give up over there does it! The Australian Magpie is an interesting fellow who can be very aggressive when nesting. They make a beautiful warbling sound. Have a listen here http://www.listeningearth.com.au/blog/a-madrigal-of-magpies

    1. Yes Cassie, I must say I love to wake up and while the kettle is boiling (priority!) stand out on the verandah and breathe it all in. Sometimes it's raining and miserable but often it's very lovely:)

  4. Hi Jane, beautiful images! Here in AZ mist is nonexistent. I am waiting for warmer days. It's sunny, but a bit cold. No flowers yet. They will be here by the end of April.
    Xo,

    1. Hi Zila, thanks for dropping by again from Arizona! I cannot imagine no mist, but your climate is so different from ours of course. I guess you are looking forward to the return of flowers again:))

  5. Here in New England Winter has not yet wished to hand the reins over to Spring , though the calendar says it should. We have had so much snow and it was pretty blogging about it for a while. Lately here on th farm I SO miss my garden ...hope to be tending it soon.
Was lovely to find your blog and see your magical misty morning.
I will be following right along now!

    1. Hello and welcome Willow! It is lovely to see you here and I can understand that you must be missing the pleasures of a spring garden, but hopefully it will be with you soon, while we in fact head into winter! I'm just about to hop over and take a look at your blog too:) Bye for now Jane

  6. In Berlin we have biting frost (minus 11°C two days ago - and the worst is the wind). But the sun shines - and that makes me happier then a few degrees less when being in Munich (though I have been VERY happy there - seeing son and DiL), where you couldn't see the normally very bright blue Bavarian sky. They say we will have "White Easter".
    Thanks for the beautiful photos!

    1. Hello again Brigitta, and I like your new profile pic :)A white Easter will be different from the usual Christmas one! It sounds very chilly with you. Spring will come eventually and Bavaria will see it's sunny sky once more.:) Cheers Jane
