My Granny's Birthday

When a child is born, so are grandmothers.  ~Judith Levy

Today would have been my Granny's birthday.  Pretty special things, Grannies, aren't they?  I loved mine so much, both of them.  They brought richness and caring and love to my young life, and to my later life. Now I am a grandmother, and life takes on new meaning.
I am sure you all have memories of , and thoughts about ,your grand mothers.  Believe me, I would just love to hear them.
Looking forward more than I can say, to your comments:) Jane

  1. I'm not a granny yet, but i loved mine, so hopefully i'll be a good one too one day! I think they definitely 'relax' more than when they were mothers, so i'm looking forward to 'relaxing' one day :-)
thanks for your lovely tweets x

  3. I only have one grandmother left here to guide me in my life… She’s the mother of my mom, and they actually treat me the same way. I consider both of them as my parents. They always teach me lessons in life. The best thing that my granny taught me is to always say “Thanks” for everything and everyone because everything we do has a corresponding effect on our lives. Well, isn’t it nice to get words of wisdom from our grandparents?

  5. I'm now a granny (no granma for me). It is lovely to have Miss Floss visit and then send her home again. My grandmother taught me to love the country life and I still do even if I live on the outer fringes.

  6. Lovely to hear your thoughts Deb. We Granny's get to enjoy the good bits don't we?! I took a look at your blog and you certainly do seem to be living a lovely country life with roses, birds and all the country trimmings:)
